1. What initially attracted you to Jellyfish, and what motivated you to join the Engineering Team?
Jellyfish just felt right. Everyone I talked to seemed very chill, reasonable and down to earth. It felt like a very healthy environment where the people are humble yet do big things. And I wanted to be a part of that! Plus, Luke laughed at my bad jokes. (“What’s orange and sounds like a parrot? A carrot!”)
2. Can you share a memorable experience/project that highlights why you enjoy working here?
I really enjoyed working on the dashboard management project to help users customize which teams, deliverables and metrics they care about. This project had a really tight loop from interviewing and asking customers what they wanted to designing a flexible solution to implementing the feature. We had a small team and worked really seamlessly to get the feature to customers quickly. It’s really satisfying when the whole team is really gelling, firing on all cylinders and you can see users enjoying your work almost immediately!
3. How does Jellyfish encourage innovation and creativity in your role, and how does that make your work more fun?
I’m on the AI team, so everything here is cutting edge! I’m always learning about new tools and even new categories of tools! From Code Completion tools to Code Generation tools to Agentic AI to the next awesome innovation!
The nice thing about Jellyfish is that I don’t have to do it alone. We share news in slack channels, we have journal club meet ups and sometimes we even meet IRL and talk and compare notes!
4. What do you think sets Jellyfish apart from others in the Tech industry?
Jellyfish is a super healthy environment. People are free to be themselves, and to take the time they need to be the best version of themselves. I feel that leadership is truly invested in us as healthy, productive individuals. They understand the value of team-building, communication and foresight.
5. If you had to sum up why you like working at Jellyfish in one sentence, what would it be?
It’s definitely the team – it’s just a tremendous bunch of people and I love working with them.
