Tripleseat strengthens org planning and PE collaboration with Jellyfish

Customer
Description

Tripleseat is the leading sales and event management platform for restaurants, hotels, and unique venues. The platform simplifies event booking and streamlines communications, helping hospitality teams increase sales and deliver seamless guest experiences.

As Tripleseat’s engineering organization grew, Chief Product and Technology Officer Pat Jenakanandhini recognized the need for deeper visibility into how teams were operating. Aligning engineering execution with broader business outcomes meant moving beyond gut feel and toward clearer, data-informed conversations.

“We use Jellyfish to get visibility into the engineering organization, understand where time is being spent, and identify trends with teams and individuals,” Pat explained. “Having productive conversations that are data-based is important.”

With Jellyfish in place, Tripleseat began identifying long-term patterns across teams—from delivery trends to time allocation. Individual contributions became easier to analyze and share, leading to more clarity around what was working, and where refinements were needed.

Bringing visibility to the boardroom

Jellyfish didn’t just improve internal operations, it became a key tool for executive alignment. Pat and his team began using Jellyfish regularly in conversations with the board. “We use Jellyfish at the board level to illustrate investment allocation and identify spending levels,” he explained.

This level of insight brought new transparency to strategic planning and strengthened how Tripleseat communicated engineering priorities across the company.

This clarity allows for nuanced conversations grounded in facts—a fundamental shift from traditional gut-feeling approaches to one that's objectively informed.

Strengthening collaboration with Vista

Tripleseat’s private equity sponsor, Vista, also benefitted from this layer of engineering visibility. With teams operating in different geographies, measuring productivity and performance had long been a challenge. Jellyfish helped replace assumptions with objective data.

“Jellyfish has helped us collaborate with Vista in how we evaluate productivity and performance of teams that are based in different geographies,” Pat said. “It provides visibility into how various teams are doing, and you can compare with objective stats over long periods of time.”

This long-term view helped foster more productive, transparent discussions between Tripleseat and its PE sponsor—creating a shared understanding of engineering progress and potential.

Laying the foundation for a data-driven future

While Tripleseat is still building toward a fully data-driven roadmap, Jellyfish has already proven essential in shaping how the company thinks about performance, planning, and alignment.

Pat shared, “Jellyfish has transformed complex data into clear insights about the health of our engineering organization. It’s changed the way we lead, invest, and grow.”

With engineering now operating on a more transparent, metrics-driven foundation, Tripleseat is well positioned to scale with confidence, and ensure every investment drives measurable impact.
