DORA 2025: AI as an Amplifier [Infographic]

For more than 10 years, the DORA report has shaped engineering leadership trends and metrics for an entire industry. This year, as a proud Gold sponsor, we’re bringing you an exclusive first-look at the data.

Unsurprisingly, the 2025 DORA report centers heavily on AI’s role in software development. Based on findings from more than 100 hours of qualitative data and survey responses from nearly 5,000 technology professionals from around the world, the 2025 DORA report shows:

AI adoption in software development is nearly universal

  • 90% of technology professionals use AI at work
  • 60% use AI for at least half of their problem-solving tasks
  • 65% rely on AI at least a moderate amount in their daily workflows

AI is positively impacting both productivity and quality

  • 80%+ perceive AI has positively impacted their productivity
  • 59% say AI has boosted their code quality

Overall, AI is freeing up teams to spend more time on high-value work and accelerating throughput.

Jellyfish’s own quantitative research backs up these findings, which you can view in more detail here or join Jellyfish and DORA lead author for an exclusive webinar on October 30. Register here.

The platform era is here

  • 90% of organizations now use at least one internal platform
  • 76% have a dedicated platform team
  • High-quality platforms amplify the positive impact of AI

3 imperatives for modern R&D leaders

Overall, this year’s report shows three main imperatives for R&D leaders as they round out the year and head into 2026:

  1. Take a systems view to solve the right problems
  2. Invest in foundational systems – platforms, data, core disciplines
  3. Focus on effective AI use to guide, evaluate, and validate work
