1. What initially attracted you to Jellyfish, and what motivated you to join the Engineering team?

I found the mission of Jellyfish to be fundamentally interesting and needed. In software engineering one of the most difficult things to do is to determine how well your team is running and I’ve seen that firsthand in my career.  Once you consider how important this is to the industry and my opportunity to affect change in this regard, it was an easy sell.

2. Can you share a memorable experience/project that highlights why you enjoy working here?

I loved this year’s CKO! Our company kickoff is a great opportunity to meet with people across the org and show off your ideas for next year as well as celebrate your past achievements.  I think our “science fair” for engineering teams was particularly fun because we were able to ask our colleagues about the work they were doing and see how it could influence your own team’s roadmap.

3. How does Jellyfish encourage innovation and creativity in your role, and how does that make your work more fun?

I am certainly encouraged to try out as many different things to improve productivity as possible, and I think with the invention of AI coding tools this has become even more important.  It has been great to work with other talented engineers here to try out different workflows to get the most out of the tools at our disposal, and I feel like it has really expanded the realm of possibility.  I certainly believe that there are way more solutions to any problem now than there were in the past.

4. What do you think sets Jellyfish apart from others in the Tech industry?

I think our culture really stands out.  We encourage people to learn, to iterate on their ideas, and to have fun all at the same time.  Our teams are given enough autonomy to determine how they work and what they work on, but leadership is still firm enough to ensure we are all pulling on the same rope.  Our focus on personal growth is another thing that I have always appreciated and my mentors here have been invaluable.

5. If you had to sum up why you like working at Jellyfish in one sentence, what would it be?

Our innovative culture here at Jellyfish has provided endless opportunities to learn, grow, and have lasting impact on our industry!
